Summary: Responsible for the execution of the Quality Assurance Engineering function including root cause analysis of customer and supplier defects, driving continuous improvement and leading cost reduction projects. Assumes the lead role in the direction of others when exercising quality project management authority. Key Position Results (Examples: Accurate financial reporting, Timely issue resolution, etc.) Reduce External, Internal Rework, Supplier and Scrap PPM. Goal established annually. Reduce cost of quality (move external to internal, improve internal) Maintain QMS ISO 9000 / TS16949 Certification General
Responsibilities: Lead teams to analyze complaints and lead implementation of customer and supplier corrective and preventive actions using 8D, 5 Why and Fishbone to reduce PPM. Analyze and Reduce Nonconforming Material, Internal Quality and COQ: -Analyze and troubleshoot manufacturing process/product capabilities and trends and lead corrective actions to implement solutions on non-capable and out of control processes. -Analyze internal/external nonconforming and rework product trends. Lead corrective action efforts to establish prioritized reduction plans on rework / held material. -Initiate engineering changes to impact improved product performance and lower cost. Control Monitoring & Measurement: -Establish visual and attribute inspection Methods -Establish and monitor MSA studies -Reduce inspection escapes through system development Lead Process Design and Development: -Coordinate product and process change control system. -Coordinate, lead, and organize new or revised process quality planning (APQP) including PFMEA, control plan and SPC. -Coordinate product trials. -Prepare / review Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) packages. Develop and maintain ISO / TS 16949 systems: -Develop, document and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and conduct training on revisions. -Lead internal and external audits including corrective actions. Skills: Critical Skills, Knowledge and Abilities -Ability to lead the plant quality initiatives -Ability to implement, maintain and improve the Quality System Management (ISO9000 / TS 16949 / QS) required -Ability to lead corrective action and continuous improvement efforts -Strong problem solving and analytical skills a must -Strong communication (verbal and written) skills required Education / Training Required -Bachelor in Engineering or Business or equivalent work experience -ASQ CQE certification preferred -Minimum of two years in manufacturing and a minimum of two years in quality engineering. -Metal processing / forming and metallurgical experience a plusEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
